The GPM Ground Validation Micro Rain Radar (MRR) NASA ACHIEVE IPHEx dataset was gathered during the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) Ground Validation Integrated Precipitation and Hydrology Experiment (IPHEx) in North Carolina from May 6, 2014 through June 15, 2014. The dataset includes data from the Metek Micro Rain Radar (MRR) instrument, which is part of the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) ACHIEVE ground-based mobile laboratory. It is a vertically oriented frequency modulated continuous wave (FM-CW) radar that measures Doppler spectra, radar reflectivity, Doppler velocity, drop size distributions, rain rates, liquid water contents, and path integrated attenuation. Data files are available in ASCII 'ave' data format. More information about the MRR instrument is available at http://www.biral.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/20110321_MRR.pdf.
