  • Abstract
    The AMSR-E/Aqua Level-3 monthly rainfall product includes global averaged rainfall accumulation on two 5 x 5 degree grids; ocean rainfall is generated by the Wilheit algorithm using Level-2A TBs and land rainfall is the averaged Level-2B GPROF products.
  • Version Description
    Validated AE_RnGd uses improved brightness temperature (Tb) binning and filtration to calculate Tb histogram based monthly rain totals over ocean 5x5 deg grids from AE_L2A. Monthly rain totals over land 5x5 deg grids are simple averages of AE_Rain L2B.
