The GOES Water Vapor Transport CD contains nineteen months of geostationary satellite-derived products from the GOES-8 satellite spanning the 1987-1988 El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) cycle. Water vapor transport variables was derived using the Marshall Automated Winds (MAW) tracking algorithm from GOES data are provided in daily and monthly gridded and non-gridded formats. Relative humidity was calculated using a modified version of the brightness temperature to relative humidity conversion technique. Pressure heights were assigned to each wind vector using the simple IR window technique. Data are available in binary and McIDAS format.
