  • Abstract
    The OMI/Aura and MODIS/Aqua Aerosol Geo-colocation Product 1-Orbit L2 Swath 13x24 km (OMMYDAGEO) is a Level-2 orbital data product that links the MODIS/Aqua aerosol geo-coordinates at 3 and 10 km with the OMI indices along the OMI orbital track. This product allows users to match up MODIS granules with the OMI orbit for analysis and validation. It co-locates MODIS and OMI cloud and radiance information onto the OMI pixel. The OMMYDAGEO data files are stored in the EOS Hierarchical Data Format (HDF-EOS5) using the swath model, and follows the same conventions used by the other OMI Level-2 data products. Each file contains data for 5 minutes corresponding to the MODIS granule from the daylit side of the orbit. There are on the order of about 140 swath files per day. The file size for the OMMYDAGEO data product is about 12 Megabytes.
