MODIS/Aqua Snow Cover 8-Day L3 Global 500m SIN Grid V006
This data set reports the maximum snow cover extent during an eight-day period in 1200 km x 1200 km tiles. Tiles are generated by compositing 500 m observations from the MODIS/Aqua Snow Cover Daily L3 Global 500m Grid (MYD10A1) data set. Bit flags are also provided that report the eight-day snow/no-snow chronology for each 500 m cell.
Type: EGI - No ProcessingDescription: Using this service, data from the NASA National Snow and Ice Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (NSIDC DAAC) can be accessed directly from our HTTPS file system, or through our Application Programming Interface (API). This API offers you the ability to programmatically order and bulk-download data using temporal and spatial filters without the need to script against NSIDC's data directory structure. This may be valuable if you are interested in incorporating data access commands into your analysis or visualization code.
Type: NOT PROVIDEDDescription: Our subscription service automatically sends you new data as they are delivered from active NASA satellite missions. This service is convenient if you require the latest data for a specific region, but you do not want to actively search and order data files regularly. Advanced customization services including reformatting, reprojection, and subsetting are also available with your subscription.
Type: Web User InterfaceDescription: This application allows you to interactively browse global satellite imagery within hours of it being acquired. You can also save it, share it, and download the underlying data.
Type: Web User InterfaceDescription: The Application for Extracting and Exploring Analysis Ready Samples (AρρEEARS) enables users to subset geospatial datasets using spatial, temporal, and band/layer parameters. Two types of sample requests are available: point samples and area samples. Interactive visualizations with summary statistics are provided for each sample within the application, which allow users to preview and interact with their samples before downloading their data.
Type: Web User InterfaceDescription: An interactive tool that estimates when satellites have passed, or will pass, over an area of the Earth. Users specify latitude and longitude or select a location on the map for which to calculate a 5-day sequence of satellite overpasses.
Type: Downloadable ToolDescription: HDFView is a visual tool for browsing and editing HDF4 and HDF5 files. Using HDFView, you can view a file hierarchy in a tree structure, create new files, add or delete groups and datasets, view and modify the content of a dataset, and add, delete and modify attributes.
Type: Downloadable ToolDescription: Panoply is a desktop application that interactively plots georeferenced and other arrays encoded in the netCDF, HDF and GRIB file formats. With Panoply you can:
Slice and plot geo-referenced latitude-longitude, latitude-vertical, longitude-vertical, time-latitude or time-vertical arrays from larger multidimensional variables; slice and plot "generic" 2D arrays from larger multidimensional variables; slice 1D arrays from larger multidimensional variables and create line plots; combine two geo-referenced arrays in one plot by differencing, summing or averaging; plot lon-lat data on a global or regional map using any of over 100 map projections or make a zonal average line plot; overlay continent outlines or masks on lon-lat map plots; use any of numerous color tables for the scale colorbar, or apply your own custom ACT, CPT, or RGB color table.
