    Description:

    The satellite data is recorded on high density tapes (HDDT). Data on HDDT is raw as recorded from satellite. The HDDT archive is kept 'forever'. The data received is corrected to eliminate errors originating in the satellite platforms, instrument imperfections and radiometric effects in the atmosphere. Imagery data output is on CCTs or films. The archive consists of around 15000 HDDTs with Landsat MSS, TM and MOS data.

    Description:

    MOS-1 was launched on February 19, 1987 carrying the MESSR (Multi-spectrum Electronic Scanning Radiometer), VTIR (Visible and Thermal Infrared Radiometer) and MSR (Microwave Scanning Radiometer). MOS-1 is Japan's first earth observation satellite. A later satellite (MOS-1b) carries the same sensors. The MESSR is a radiometer intended to collect various types of information on earth surfaces by observing light reflected or emitted from ground surfaces in a total of four wavelength bands in the visible and near infrared regions. These wavelength bands are similar to those possessed by the field-proven MSS (Multispectral Scanner) on board the LANDSAT developed by the United States.     Description:

    MOS-1 was launched on February 19, 1987 carrying the MESSR (Multi-spectrum Electronic Scanning Radiometer), VTIR (Visible and Thermal Infrared Radiometer) and MSR (Microwave Scanning Radiometer). For the wavelength band of the MSR, frequencies corresponding to the water vapor absorption band and frequencies suitable for the observation of the water content are selected since the major missions of the MSR are the observation of the water vapor content in the atmosphere above oceans and the distribution of water content in the water vapor, sea ice and snow cover.     Description:

    Description:

    MESSR/MOS-1b L2 Data is obtained from the MESSR sensor onboard MOS-1b, Japan's first marine observation satellite, and produced by the National Space Development Agency of Japan:NASDA. MOS-1b which has the same functions as MOS-1 is Sun-synchronous sub-recurrent Orbit satellite launched on February 7, 1990 as a link in a global satellite observation system for more effective natural resource utilization and for environmental protection. The MESSR is multi-spectral radiometers and has swath of 100 km. This dataset includes radiometric and geometric corrected applied raw data.Map projction is UTM, SOM, PS. The provided format is CEOS. The spatial resolution is 50 m.

    The ESA Orthorectified Map-oriented (Level 1) Products collection is composed of MOS-1/1B MESSR (Multi-spectral Electronic Self-Scanning Radiometer) data products generated as part of the MOS Bulk Processing Campaign using the MOS Processor v3.02. The products are available in GeoTIFF format and disseminated within EO-SIP packaging. Please refer to the _$$MOS Product Format Specification$$ https://earth.esa.int/eogateway/documents/d/earth-online/mos-product-format-specification for further details. The collection consists of data products of the following type: MES_GEC_1P: Geocoded Ellipsoid GCP Corrected Level 1 MOS-1/1B MESSR products which are the default products generated by the MOS MESSR processor in all cases (where possible), with usage of the latest set of LANDSAT improved GCP (Ground Control Points). These are orthorectified map-oriented products, corresponding to the old MOS-1/1B MES_ORT_1P products with geolocation improvements.
