    <skos:definition xml:lang="en">In March through November 1994, the NASA ER-2 flew out of Barbers Point, Hawaii, and Christchurch, New Zealand. These flights constituted the ASHOE/MAESA mission. The ASHOE part of the mission was intended to examine the causes of ozone loss in the Southern Hemisphere lower stratosphere to investigate how the loss is related to polar, mid-latitude, and tropical processes.</skos:definition>
