Its activity includes compilation,safeguarding and dissemination of conventional data collectedduring national and international projects The data managementincludes also information on methodology and formats(meta-data), and the implementation of quality checks to insurecomparability of data from various source s.SISMER is the Designated National Oceanographic Data Centre forFrance (French NODC) for the International Oceanographic DataExchange programme (IODE) of UNESCO IntergovernmentalOceanographic Commission, following the former Bureau Nationaldes Donn?es Oc?aniques (BNDO).
