Old Value=In general, facies are the set of all characteristics of a sedimetary rock that
indicates its particular environment of deposition and which distinguish it
from other facies in the same rock. Glacial facies refer to the characteristic
nature of glacial ice and/or the processes by which the ice formed and
processes by which rock debris from the bed is entrained into the ice.
